William G. Zimmermann and Mark Alspaugh, P.E. founded Overland Conveyor Co., Inc. (OCC) in 1993. Both principals had extensive belt conveyor backgrounds with manufacturers such as The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and Continental Conveyor & Equipment Co. prior to this endeavor.
The goal was to build an excellent technical support consulting company specializing in handling bulk materials with belt conveyors. Emphasis was put on integrity in both engineering and personal relationships with clients. OCC established several strategic alliances with component manufacturers and service providers who rely on belt conveyor users for the majority of their sales or service. These companies represent industry leaders who are looking for ways to add value to their components through strong technically superior service. In addition, OCC established links to research organizations and universities and have taken leadership roles in industry technical organizations with bulk material handling interests.
